Show notes

Fall is officially here, and we’re fully embracing it. This week, we’re talking all things fall, our latest Starbucks orders, and somehow taking a trip down memory lane to Carly’s time in Italy, including the story of how she ended up on Jersey Shore.

Kat shares her farmers market story, we learn more about her family’s Saints Day tradition, and as usual, the conversation takes a few turns along the way.

But we saved the biggest update for this episode because we’ve been keeping a pretty big secret. 🤍

Come hang with your neighbors for fall favorites, funny stories, a little nostalgia, and a surprise announcement we’ve been SO excited to finally share.

Welcome to Between Neighbors. I'm Carly. And this is Kat. Your favorite neighbors are back. Episode six. Here we are.

Yep, again. I feel like I just saw you.

I know. This week has flown by.

It has. It's definitely time is flying. It's going, I don't know, this whole week I feel like I it was like Monday and now it's Friday. I know. Well, when we record is Fridays.

Yes, right.

Of course. Um, but I feel like fall is in full effect. I don't know. It's like so humid though, still. It's probably all of the rain. That's true. But I just feel like, yeah, Starbucks has released their fall menu. Can we talk about that real quick? Sure, sure. So I'm like, hey, I'm gonna go get Starbucks.

And you're like, yeah, I have to bring it up. Because I don't know anybody out there, if you remember, the caramel apple, what was it called? Um, caramel apple apple spice, and it was like the warm like apple juice or apple cider with the caramel, it literally tasted like the lollipop. So I'm like, okay, Carly, I'll order it. And I'm like, in my Starbucks app, I'll order and just pick it up. And I'm like, there is no caramel apple spice. It was like apple juice or apple slices. So then what I call you, and I'm like, there is nothing there, and literally, this is something that's been discontinued for what did we say? How many years?

Okay, I swear we literally talked about it last week, too. I know, I know. I just my brain right now, yeah. Um, brain fog, but yeah, I used to love that drink because one, I could have it at night because it didn't have any cocaine in it. Yeah, and it was like warm, it was fall in a cup, it was so good. I want to know why did they discontinue that?

I do too. It it literally, you know which lollipop I'm talking about, right? It's like the green apple with like the you know caramel. It literally tasted like that in a cup. It was delicious, yes, and it was good for like what is it, like kids, like you know, there's no caffeine instead of like a hot chocolate. Oh my god, it was so good. Bring it back, Starbucks. What did you get last time? Oh, it was so disgusting.

Yeah, what was it?

Just thinking about it makes me want to gag. Um it was called chider. Oh. So I was like, oh, cool, like apple, like that. I'm thinking it's going to be similar to that. Sure. So I was like, oh, okay, it's like a cider, chider. No, it legit tasted like you know, like a glade room spray? Like the like apple cinnamon one, like a candle. I I it was like, and I kept drinking it because I was like, I paid money for it. Every time you took a sip, I just felt like I was smelling like a candle from like 1996. It was disgusting. Well, it was cold too, which I thought was a little odd. Yes, it was iced, it was gross. Don't buy that if you like it.

I'm sorry, it just was not for me. So then I had to pivot and just get a matcha because I wanted something fall, but I'm not gonna do like it's later, and I'm not gonna do caffeine right now. I already had my like caffeine intake for the day. And here's me with like a cold girl like gonna stay up all night.

Yeah, it's funny. No, because I get like nervous up there then, and I'm like, oh, I want to try something, but obviously I know don't try anything new because when I do, this is how it turns out. So I was like, oh, we'll just do a regular maybe we're missing something.

Maybe there is a fall drink. If you know, if you're an avid like Starbucks person, let us know if there's a good fall drink out there.

Like, what are we missing out on? Like cozy, not like the pumpkin spice latte.

Like, I that's literally I feel like doesn't that cause cancer or something? Wasn't that a whole I thought there was a lawsuit?

Oh my gosh, they're just talking about like the coffee beans. Come on, everything.

No, I thought it was the pumpkin. What? I have it right here. Oh my gosh, I didn't realize that's I mean, no, this is a cold brew. No, that's the cold brew. That's not the pumpkin spice lava. I'm pretty sure this does too. Probably it all does. I mean, whatever.

Anyways, okay. But no, if they do have an idea or like a special, you know, let us know because so far it's uh it's a zero for everyone.

I mean, it's a zero out of zero for the fall drinks at Starbucks. Oh god. I will say the hedgehog cake pop though is super cute, and my kids are obsessed with it. So that's cute. Yes, okay, and before we get into like everything, we do have a little special announcement. Yes, yes, that we'll get into at the end. So you have to listen to the entire thing. Yes. That's we're enticing you to listen to the whole thing. And it's gonna be a good announcement, so you're gonna wanna stay for this. You are. And you're this is breaking news, so you're hearing it first. You are hearing it first, right here.

Oh my gosh. Speaking of like funny stories, um my son, I was like the other day, like went into my bathroom, and I'm like, whatever, gonna wash my hair, and I'm in the shower, and I go to grab my like $40 bottle of shampoo that I know is three-fourths of the way full. Okay, and I lift it. I'm like, did you not? I'm like, what the? I'm like, why is it empty? Oh yeah, I I was gonna tell you this. I'm like, why is this empty? And I'm like talking to myself out loud in the shower, nobody can hear me, you know. But I'm like, what? And then I'm like looking, and so I go to put it in my hand and like water squirts out. So I'm like, okay, I know like my husband like was cleaning. I'm like, did he knock it over? But it's a big bottle of like biology, like you have to squeeze it out. It's not like you know, it's just gonna pour out. So my kid is at school because I asked my husband and he's like, What are you talking about? And I'm like, oh my god, I go, so my youngest, he likes to use our shower because it's like bigger and more open. Um, and a lot of times I'll like knock on the door and I'm like, hey, are you almost done? And his hair's like not even wet yet. It's like he's daydreaming in there. Yeah. So I'm like putting two and two together, and I'm like, this little shit pour must have been like playing with your shampoo. My shampoo.

When he came home from school, I was like, hey, I'm like, come over here. I go, what's up? I go, are you did you pour my like what did you do with my shampoo? And he's like, what are you talking about? And I was like, no, no, no.

I go, what did you do? And he was like, I don't know, I was just like bored. I'm like, so you poured my shampoo down the drain. I said, now you can go in your piggy bank and you're giving me $40. Like, are you I was and then I'm like laughing at the same time because I'm like, I can't believe he did that, but also I'm like really mad. That's a lot, yes. It was brand new. So today I had to wash my hair with my shitty shampoo that I had from like a hotel or something left over.

Okay, and like until I go buy a new what was he like was he making potions? Like, I really think so. Okay, so my son has done that before, but he's five. Yeah, I know.

I would expect it from him from before. So I have the exact like same thing.

Like the big leader bottles, but mine is like the purple purology, okay, which is still the same thing. 40 plus actually, yeah, it's a lot. Um, and I always buy them too. Well, he took my conditioner once and dumped it out. I took a spatula because it was still on the floor. No, this was gone. Oh, yeah, and I spatula that in. I was I was like, you know how much money that is to go down the drain right now?

Yeah, I would have too, but this was a goner. Oh my gosh.

Like, and and then I I was just oh my you guys had like the cutouts in your shop where that's where you put it. Yes, that's where I put mine so Caden cannot reach it up there. Oh well.

I'm like, my kid's like seven feet tall almost. Oh my god. I was like, he's 16, not just.

No, not that one, not him. Oh my god, when I told his brother, he's like, dude, what did he do? And then he's like, What did you do with mom shampoo? And I just was and then the fact that he kind of filled it partially with the water, thinking you wouldn't notice. But it's not even that. It was like, you know, like this I'm lifting, like it was like empty. Yeah. Oh my gosh, I was dying. But speaking of now, hair, tell me about your blow dryer. What happened?

Okay, so I've had this like Revlon blow dryer forever. As we all usually do, right? Like all throughout college.

Maybe my mom still has her like OG like blow dryer. Those things last forever. No, I think it smells like it burns.

Okay, like this is one where like if you accidentally like got it caught, like your hair wouldn't get sucked up, you know. Oh yeah. And then um it started smoking like a week ago, and I was like, okay, I'm not even I unplugged it. I was like, this is done so I've had this for enough time, we're not gonna troubleshoot here. Like it's done. So I just threw it in the trash, and I was like, okay, now how am I gonna play this? Because you wanted a good one. I wanted like a good one. So uh I was like doing some research and I like took the quiz of like your hair type and what you know blow dryer will be good for you. Of course, like the Dyson came up, the specific one, and they are expensive, yeah. So I'm like, okay, well, my husband, like, really he doesn't have any sisters, so he doesn't know. That's the best, he doesn't know stuff like this. So I like he's like sitting down. I think he already had a beer, so I'm like, okay, this is the perfect time, right? So I'm like, hey, um, so I know you saw like my blow dryer, like one out or whatever. I'm like, I've had that for like 15 years, so I have to like buy a new one. He's like, okay. I'm like, but they're like kind of they you know they last a long time, so they're like kind of expensive.

And he's like, okay, and I'm like, yeah, and I like told him the price. He's like, wow, oh though that is really expensive. I'm like, yeah, but it's like a one-time like buy and then you're good. He's like, all right, well, sounds good. I mean, you need a hair dry.

That's awesome.

So I'm like, I mean, I wasn't lying, that was the price.

It's I mean, and they technically are like, even if you go and look like on Ulta or something, even the other brands are pretty, I mean, unless you do like a Revlon, but you know, it's a rake or whatever happens. Like, I'll never forget I had a blow dryer and it like didn't like electrocute me, but like the sparks came out, and I was like, where I like threw it, and I was like, F that. Done. But I did not get a Dyson. I don't think they were out that probably not.

No, um so it comes tomorrow. Oh, awesome. Yeah, so I thought I thought you wanted like the air wrap thing.

So when you asked, I was like, oh yeah, you have long hair, that'll be great for you. But um, that's what I thought. Like it comes like in a suitcase and stuff. Like, yeah, no, you just wanted the regular blower. I just want like a regular blow dryer.

Well, let me know because I will. Yeah, we'll see. I was like kind of like, oh my gosh, this is ridiculous to spend on this, but it has like a two-year warranty. So we'll see how it goes. And I bought it like right from the Dyson site too, because I wasn't like messing around. Yeah. And then I saw I was just in Costco and I saw that they have the one you're talking about. Oh, really? Yes, and they have like a curling one too. They have like a straightener and a curling one. The Dyson? Yes. Through Costco? Yes, at Costco. But I like wanted like I just wanted a true blown like blow dryer.

Well, you saved your husband a couple hundred more dollars then. Um was it more or was it like the same actually? It was like the same. Oh, really? Yeah. But see, sometimes do you think that it's like the true product there too? Or it's like a br it's like a a version made for Costco.

I don't know because like the dice, they always have the dice and vacuum cleaners. That's true too. I don't know. That's a good question, but yeah, it was still the color that I got was like $50 off. I was like, sure, I'll take the green. Like the green's fine. Like, I don't need like the cream or whatever. Right.

Oh my gosh, who's gonna see your blow dry?

No, and I like light.

I think my house is like my wedding color was green. Really? Yeah, yeah.

I love green, and I was like, for 50 bucks off. I mean, yeah. I told him it was like around that price. So yeah, so, anyways, um, if you have any tips and tricks, uh scam your man.

Alo, us for more man.com. No, I'm just kidding. It wasn't, I mean, it was it was the truth. He's gonna listen to this now, and that's fine. And he, you know, why don't you go to Target and just buy a $50? It would try it would break again, okay? Yes. Quality, quality, yeah. Um so yeah, that was that was a fun little purchase. It's always nice when you can buy something like for yourself. And I haven't done that in a while. So I was like, you know what? I'm gonna do it.

Yeah, why not?

Yep.

Um, oh, another thing that made me think of you actually, was it yesterday or today? I was watching like Jersey Shore family reunion. Yes, and I was like, Didn't you tell us a story that you were like did you have a cameo or you like met them?

I want to hear it, and so do the people. Oh my goodness. Um, yeah, I had like three seconds of fame. So um I played college soccer, and my soccer team was in Italy for to play. Yeah. Um, we were all over Italy, and we stopped in Florence, and they were working at the pizza shop there. And so because one of their seasons was there. It was a whole season? I'm pretty sure. Yeah. So I just thought of it. I was like, oh my gosh. Yeah, we were just like walking in Florence, and we knew they were there. Oh, but we didn't know like if we would see them.

Um, so sure enough, we just see like Polity, Dina, and Snooky like walking, and the camera crews are following them. So we're like, okay, let's like check it out. And they are walking to work, which is the pizza place. So then we like stand in line to get into the pizza place, and obviously we were like American college girls, and there was like 20 of us. So I think the producers were like, Okay, girls, like sign this stuff, and like you can go in. Yeah, you had to like sign something, yeah. There was like a whole thing, and then you can like go into the pizza shop.

Um, so like the like one of the girls, they like called her name, like, hey Nikki, here's your pizza. And then my little like three seconds of fame was like Paul D was outside with flyers and he's like, Where are the college girls at? And I just walk up, I'm like, hi, and then he like hands me a flyer and I grab it, and that's like that's like the yeah, all that one was. But we were late then to get back to the bus. So our coach was like pissed. Dude, you had to meet them though. Well, right, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. We literally sat outside the pizza shop and we're like, okay, we are all in this together. Like, if we are like, coach is gonna be pissed, but we gotta suck it up and run the sprints because this is our once in a lifetime opportunity. And people have to remember back then this was 2011. I was gonna say that was like prime time for them. Huge. Like, yeah, everyone was obsessed with Jersey short. It was like a phenomenon, I feel like. Yeah, people were dressing like that, like short skirts, poofed up hair, tan. Yeah, that was like gym tan laundry. Yeah,

so this was like our holy grail, like we were going for it, and so then we like got to the game, and after we played a full-blown soccer game 90 minutes, she was like, Get your asses on the line. Was it worth it though? Totally, of course, but she ran us. Oh yeah, she ran us.

That is so funny. Yeah, I was thinking about that. I think it yeah, because that was so obviously there was like the first seasons where they're at the shore, yeah, and then they like were making it big and they went to Italy, and then they started doing like the family. It was like the season that was on the other day was like the family, like vacation ones that they do. So I just thought of that and was like, oh my gosh, I forgot Carly met them.

Yeah, and Polly D is like really tall in real life, really, yes. Well, with that hair, probably and I cannot believe how small Snooky and Dina are really when they call them meatballs, they are literally meatballs, like they are so tiny, like short. I I mean I'm only 5'4, so it's not like I'm huge.

They were like a foot shorter than me, I felt like oh my gosh, and that is so funny.

But that's the only three that we met. Oh, okay. So like they took obviously like shifts at the so we didn't meet the other oh my god, the others, but I think our main objective was like Snooky and Poly D at that time, so we were like all good, but it was just funny how we all like grouped together, like, okay, we're gonna be late, but yeah, we're doing this. That's awesome. So funny. Yeah, it was cool, it was definitely a good experience. So oh yeah, so you went to the farmer's market last weekend with your mom.

Yes, that's why I feel like the week went by so fast because I was put to work on Saturday. Really? Yeah. So we went first first, as a disclaimer, every year we have something what's called like your slava, right? So it's your saints day. So it's like a huge thing. Um for every family. Mine is in December, and it is like a vegan menu, so it's like no meat, no dairy, right? Um, and so we last year made stuffed peppers with like potatoes, rice, whatever, right? And my mom, she luckily had in her freezer from her prior trip to a farmer's market, these peppers, right? So she's like, next year, we're going to the farmer's market. Like, you need to be prepared. Again, last year was like my first year even doing it. Okay, so this is my second year. So now I know come September, the time of like when peppers are in season and whatnot. This is the time to get them, and not like the ones from the grocery store, like legit, like from the farm, right? So she's like, What are you doing on Saturday? We're going to the farmer's market. And I'm like, Oh, well, I guess I'm going with you. We get there, and I'm telling you, everyone, every person that Serbian had the same idea. So, like, everyone's there. Yeah, because this is the time of year. People are making like um like roasted pepper spreads, like just whatever it is you name it. So then my older sister, her Saints Day is in November. So she also was like, hey, get me peppers. And I'm like, I'm gonna go like I'm going with my mom, and my sister is going to a college um football game because her daughter started, you know, started college, so they're going tailgating because it's like family weekend, you know, so she's having fun, and I'm with my mom getting these peppers, so whatever, we go.

And like all the little farmer stands, you know, we got there as it right when the time said that it opened. Well, clearly the rest of the community they knew like something else because there was people already there, you know, whatever. So we get to some lady, and my mom's like, No, those are too big. We get to another, you know, stand. No, those are too big. Oh no, those are too much. I paid this much for a full bushel, and this is the price that I have. I'm like, inflation, you know what I mean? Like, we gotta get it together. We gotta get it back. So she's like, No, those are too big, we want red. Those were all like this other color, so we find this one lady, and we're like, she had the half a bushel, and so now we see like the price is the same basically everywhere, but hers were like better sizes, whatnot. So she my mom asks her, Hey, is it okay for us to you know do the bushel but pick our own? Because we need ones a little smaller, right? And the lady's like, Yeah, no problem, super nice, right? Okay, so I'm standing there with my mom, and every pepper I'm putting in, she's like, No, that's too bad.

So I'm like, what am I doing wrong? And then she's like, Okay, come on, how many is that? How many are we counting? You know, blah blah blah. And so I'm like, okay, and she's like, No, not those, you know, and then she's asking the lady, like, can we have like another set? So she like dumps so that we can fill our own. She was fine with it. Then all of a sudden, because the more people were coming and we hear like our language, and I'm like, oh my god, mom, like I already knew what was gonna happen. So somebody else is like asking, like, oh, do you have this other color? And then this lady loses her shit, like it's too much for her. Yes, so we have like the one half bushel basket that they like then dump into a bag for you, right? So now we're filling the second, and my mom's like, Oh, we need more. The lady's like, No, and I was like, What is happening? She goes, No, you guys all want no pesticides, organic, perfect peppers. I'm like, who said anything like that? Literally, I go, ma'am, and then I'm like, I'm usually the quiet one, but no, I was like, ma'am, I said, we don't care about that. We're looking for smaller, we're using these for stuffing. I it doesn't have to be like perfect, perfect. Yeah, you don't want the ones that are like rotten or that look, you know, bad. We're just asking for smaller ones when she was like, you guys all want pesticide free, organic, perfect. This is what happened, this is what falls from the bush, this is what no more. And I was like, Do you want your money? How much is it? And so, like, for the two that we bought, I'm like, she's like 60, and I'm like, here's 60, and we freaking left. And I was like, Oh my god, she went from being so nice, she probably got overwhelmed, of course, because I was overwhelmed. My mom's like, no, not that one, but you know, like she's like telling me, like, don't pick that one, that one's ugly.

And and then, so now Well then you guys are insulting your peppers, just like exactly like she literally, like she got insulted, but it wasn't about that.

It was like lady, you didn't birth these.

I like right, and it we're buying them, like I'm giving you the money. We're just looking for ones that were like a little smaller and like a little nicer looking. So then we get to this other man who only had like all one color, like no red. Then I hear these other people, we came from so and so. I'm like, oh my god, you know what, lady? I came from 45 minutes away, like same shit, you know? Yeah, so whatever. We end up getting what we got, and we're getting to the car and we're leaving, and then you know, we I get home, and now I gotta clean all these peppers because I have to put them in bags and freeze them, you know, to keep. So now I'm like, oh my gosh, my basement freezer's like full of all this other stuff. Like, how am I gonna fit it? Literally the entire day I cut open, cleaned out peppers, washed them all, um, you know, put the back, counted them, labeled them for my sister, and you know what? You did them for yourself. Oh yeah, I did because what you know, she lives further away from me. Like, by the time she comes, like they're I don't want them to get rotten. Yeah. And I was like, you owe me $30 and Starbucks.

She like zeled me, and I'm like, yeah, I did all the work. Yeah. Oh my gosh, I was traumatized, and I'm like, man, this is what these people do like every year, and even more. Like, I don't even have that many people. Yeah. So it's like, I can't imagine like doing this. Well, I guess now I have to, but oh my gosh, I was she was like, You guys want pesticide free, organic. This is this is natural from the earth. That's how she kept saying, and I was like, oh my god.

Maybe she thought you guys were like looking for the perfect peppers.

Then I'm like, does she think we're like gonna go resell them? Because I'm not like that, obviously. My ass ain't selling peppers on the side.

Like, I don't know what no she, yeah, maybe I don't know. Okay, is this like the only farmer's market you can go to?

No, there's plenty of others, but my mom heard from so-and-so this was a good one, and then I'm like, Yeah, mom, we're not coming back.

Well, so I guess in our town, my parents went last year and they don't have it the way some of the bigger like cities do. So that's why we went where we went. But I'm like, uh, is it worth it? Right. And then, oh my gosh, there was like even just the parking scenario. I can't like I oh Julius, it's just all the things. So we're like waiting in the parking lot, and there's this like old man like getting ready to leave. And I'm like telling my mom, I'm like, let's just wait. Like, he's just slower, it's fine. Well, then there's like another car like pulling up, and I'm thinking he they're waiting for this other old man coming out. And I look at him and I'm like pointing, like, yeah, this is us, like, we're waiting here. And he literally went in front of my mom and took the spot, and I'm like, What? And so then we end up, you know, finding a different finally, like after like going around a few more times, like find a spot. And my mom's like, I'm gonna look for that man, his Florida license plate. I'm like, you are not gonna find this man. Like, let's go get the peppers, and we're out. Yeah, you know, oh my gosh, I'm not dude.

Yeah, this is a lot of work. I mean, down there doesn't surprise me.

This is a lot of work, it was a lot, and I'm not doing it again.

Um, okay, so explain something to me.

I did get apples though, honey crisp, which are delicious. I should have brought you one. Did I tell you I'm obsessed with those right now? Oh my god, I still have some. I'll give it to you. And then um, I did buy like honey. I like the honey because it's like from here.

Local too, yeah. Um, okay, so I have some questions about this whole like Saints Day thing. I know I kind of just like randomly set it. No, that's okay. So I understand the whole like you having a Saints Day, but you said it's like a really big deal. So be you have many people in your family, so are all of their Saints' Days a very big deal?

Yes, so very good question. Yes, so every family has like a patron saint.

Oh, so it's not each person, correct?

So not like Greeks, where you have like a namesday name, so similar, like same thing, but not okay. So this is per family, so it's when we converted to Christianity, okay, and then every family was, you know, given a saints day, or some people, let's say you converted like later in life, or you married into um like the the religion or whatever it may be, and then you could pick, like sometimes people are able to then pick their like saints day. Oh, yeah. But for us, it's like from you know, generations and generations on.

Okay, so you don't have like when you like leave like when you get married.

Yes, so for me, right? So my dad, he we have all girls, right? So for my dad, uh once it's done, like he's you know, actually, yeah, because his brawler, like we're all girls, there's no boys, but my husband's or my my not my husband, my dad's cousin has a son, his first cousin, so he will carry on like our fan like that Saints Day, where okay, when you get married, you take on your husband's okay's day.

Because I heard you say, like, oh my sister's Saints Day is this because that's her husband. Husband, yes. Okay, sorry. So you so that be in my brain. No, no, no. No, it's okay. So you're so what's your dad's so your dad still has a Saints Day though with his family, right? Correct. But you no longer that's not necessarily your Saints Day anymore because you took on your husband's right.

It's my it's my like child like my childhood one. Okay. You know, like as a I can't, I don't even know the English word for it. Sure. Um, but yes.

And when is that one?

My dad's August. So August.

Yeah, August. So you guys celebrate that one, like with your family.

Like I'll go to my parents' house and then I'm like a guest, which I end up getting put to work anyways. Like, but my parents are older, so it's just us now. Where before it was like, you know, other like friends and family and and close relatives that would come. But as people, you know, and it depends, like every family's different, but you know, if you don't have a son to take it on, then it just ends up becoming a little bit smaller, so it's just like me, my sisters come um with our families to my parents' house.

Okay, and then you would go to your sisters for hers, and she would host. Correct. And then everyone comes to your house for your sizes in December, and this is where you're getting all the peppers prepped and ready for us in the freezer so that I don't run into an issue.

Yeah, okay. Yeah, so ours is in December, and ours in December is one of the biggest, which is Saint Nick. Sure, okay. But then another thing is that our calendar goes differently. So, like Saint Nick for us is December 19th. Okay. Where it's December 6th, right? Yeah, yeah. So it's the difference of um that time frame. It's like 13 days.

Okay, yeah, that makes sense. I just wanted to make sure I understood it all. And yeah, that's why like, what is happening?

Why do you buy all these peppers? And then that's why I have like that big, you know, when you're at my house, like the big icon on the wall, like that's our saint. Okay. Yeah. And um, why is it vegan? Um, because during that time of the year it's like the a Lent. Oh, got it. Yeah. So that's like your oh so it just ends up that that whole like so usually any like Saints Day during that time is is like a vegan because you practice during Lent. Okay. Yeah. Interesting. And then if it lands like on a Friday, you know, or a Wednesday, those are usually um vegan as well, like throughout the year. So like this year my parents was on a Friday. Okay. Was it Friday? Yes, it was Friday. So that one was like it ended up being vegan, but otherwise, the other times it's like they're roasting a pig, you know, stuff like that. Um, but for us, it's always vegan because of the time of year.

Got it.

Okay, no, that makes sense. That's good to know.

So you need those peppers.

Yeah, bro, I need those peppers. Oh my gosh. I know.

Yeah, because you need to make like a hearty meal vegan, which is kind of a challenge, I feel like.

Um, yeah, but then you also, well, at least we do, um, will go to there's um like a Greek-owned actually place um that he will do the fish and he will he will fry the fish in separate oil, then that's used for meat because he he knows like what's up. So we tell him like, hey, this are he's like, it's Worsey Nick, and we're like, yeah, and so understands. Yeah, so he knows. Um, and so we'll get like fish from there. Oh, nice. And I can't take really credit because last year my mom like did everything for it was my first one. Yeah, so I was like, um, can you come over? And she's like, Yeah, take the note, you know. She's like, Are you writing notes? And I'm like, Yeah, I'm writing as she's like cutting and chopping and stirring, so she did a lot of it for me. But nice well, you'll take it on, you know. Yeah, I mean it's I'll learn eventually. Yeah, it's hard, and we don't even have that many people yet, I guess. But because it was our first one, so that's cool though. Yeah, and then my get you know, then we have two boys, so it will also be passed on to them. But while they're still with us and while we still celebrate it, when they get married, like their wives will also be, you know, so it just gets like bigger and bigger until you go then on your own, and you know, it gets passed on to you. Yeah, that's cool, very cool. Yep.

What was I gonna say? I was gonna say something. The barber's market. Oh my gosh, I just lost it.

You're you know why I'm losing range free eggs. Why? Tell us should we finally give the announcement? Oh no, yeah. So, not to derail this whole conversation. No, I love it. Let's go. But I do have kind of a secret announcement. Some of you are gonna think I'm absolutely insane, and we're announcing it on the podcast.

We're announcing it on the podcast before like I put it on social media or anything. So you better listen up. So you're getting it in the inside scoop right now, but we're getting a new tiny little neighbor. Yeah.

So call me crazy, but we are having our fourth kid. I'm pregnant. Oh my gosh, yes, congratulations. Oh, and funny story, maybe we should insert the audio of me telling you. I think so too, because I just remember, yes. So I just knew it. Yes, and so I actually told Kat maybe three or four episodes ago. What are we on? Six? Yeah, dude, it was like week two. Yeah, you told me. Right. Yeah. So um, I'm already in second trimester, everything looks good with the baby, so we feel like comfortable telling people. Um, pretty crazy, but yeah, I'll insert the audio like right here of Kat's genuine reaction.

Okay, before we get started though, okay, I have to tell you something. You're pregnant. Yeah. I think you're gonna be anywhere. How'd you know? Because you were drinking. I know, I knew you were gonna know it, and I don't know, like, at book club, like how I'm gonna spin it.

And I was like, You're gonna say that you are on like a medication or something, yeah, for the bells palsy. Damn, Trevor needs to stay with her.

I knew. How did you know? Because I just had like the sixth sense, and then when you're like, oh, I don't like to drink like two nights in a row or whatever it was. I was like, oh, okay, no problem. But then I was like, hmm, so now how are we gonna drink our gerate? I know we have to wait till March. Wait, like, what? Yeah. Wait, how far is that?

I mean, that's not that far, right?

What did your parents say? What did your dad say?

My dad's like, don't fucking tell me that. No, he's excited. He was like telling people tonight at the party. And I'm like, hello, I have not announced this to anyone. I'm like, you cannot just tell all the uncles.

How many weeks are you?

I'm like 10 weeks.

Okay. So like you're right there.

Yeah. I mean, yeah, I have my first appointment on September 2nd.

Oh my god.

I know. So four kids.

Wait, first appointment? Why so late? That's how they do it now.

No, they take you at like 10. And then you do all like the genetic testing then. Yeah. Oh my god, congratulations. I just said I had a feeling you like knew. I don't know why.

I don't know. I f I mean I thought it was something. Was that when you said you had a new diagnosis?

I said no, I didn't say diagnosis. I said like, I have some medical stuff going on. Oh that's that and that's why I've been so tired. I'm like always pretty good. I'm like I know, I don't nap.

I I when you said it, I I was gonna be like, you take naps?

Yeah, never. This would be like a perfect episode, too. I know, I just recorded all this. We can't put it on this episode.

Of course not, but we will. I had a feeling just because I don't know, I just and the but then I'm like, you know, I'm not gonna judge anybody who doesn't want to drink because I know why I didn't drink, and sometimes even now, because getting older when you're drinking, it affects you like way differently. And I'm kind of like, no, is he barking at us?

Yeah, um, so yeah, I just wanted to tell you that because I'm like, okay, eventually this is gonna be very hard to hide. What are we gonna do? It's a clause of the contract, okay? Well, oh no, like this will be perfect because I'll have even more time. You know, I'm not gonna stop because of that. This is my fourth. I this isn't my first rodeo.

You're not gonna move, right? No four-bedroom.

Yeah, well, you're five, don't you? So technically, but what we're gonna do is the two girls are gonna share, they're a year apart.

I shared till I was 22.

Yeah, like till I moved out after college. So what and Tegan has the biggest room right now, so like Madison's in the nursery, so it just makes sense. Like, Madison and Tegan go together, they'll have like cute little bunk beds, like the stair bunk beds. Yeah, Caden has his own room, and then the baby will have the nursery. I know. I'm actually like excited. Oh my god. A tiny little baby. Yeah. Oh my god, this is so exciting. Isn't that crazy? Alright, let me move the stock. Hold on. Okay.

Okay, that was actually so good. That was good.

I mean, obviously, take all the other stupid stuff of my dog, but um You were like, beer practice. Oh my god! Oh my god. Then I'm like, we should have recorded this. I know. Oh my god. You knew. Because but again, like I said, I don't judge it like, hey, you don't want to drink fine, but I was just like, mmm, something's up.

And then you were like that same day, you're like, your makeup looks so good, it's like so glowy. Yeah, and it was like that pregnancy.

It was before you even told me. Yeah, you just think, yeah, yeah, I that's what it was too. And then I had a feeling like when we went to iguanawana, remember? Yeah, and I was like, Oh, we're like getting margaritas, and you're like, I'll have a Pepsi, and I'm like, Who the fuck is this?

Pepsi, Coke, but they don't have or whatever. No, no, no, you're right, you're right. I think it was like they had Pepsi. I had to get a Pepsi, yeah, which is gross.

But um, which is so weird because like when Britney Spears was all Pepsi, everybody did Pepsi, and like Coke was like this redheaded stepchild.

I don't know. That my family has always been a Coke family, like my dad is like a Coke guy. Yeah, not that kind of family. Call down, everybody.

Big on the Coke. Yeah, that's why you like that coke. Jesus, leather jacket. He also calls soda pop.

Oh, is he from Illinois? Oh, he's from Illinois, that's it. You want to grab me a pop? No, and that's why I'm thankful. My husband, he never grew up that way because his mom was from here, so it was always soda. Because yeah, like soda, and we call tennis shoes, not gym shoes. Oh, we say tennis shoes. Right. Well, because I'm from here too. But like Illinois, they're like gym shoes and pop.

Absolutely not. Okay, but one thing I can't do, it's it's water fountain, it's not bubbler. Same. I it's water fountain. I think that's like a northern southern Wisconsin thing.

Yeah. And obviously, by like just the way we talk, you can tell where we're from. It comes out even more like when my sister talks, I'm like, oh, like it comes out sometimes. I'm like, dang, girl.

Oh my gosh. Oh, so funny. Anyways, we digress. So that was our secret. Now we recorded this, yeah. The whole thing.

You were like full of surprises today.

I think it was this coffee on the side.

Did you think we were just talking? Are you serious? Yeah, because that's what we do.

Um just like having a hot plash over here.

Um, but yes, so thank you for staying to the end. That's our big surprise. Baby number four for me. It's gonna be wild, but it's gonna be great.

Yeah, you'll do again.

Oh, and you're hearing it here first too. One more announcement. What? It's a girl. Oh yeah.

And that's something like you didn't know at that time. Well, I didn't know either. Yes.

And then remember, you got like a result, and you're like, what if it's the gender? And I said, I want to open it.

Yeah, yeah. So yeah, I'll have three little girls, which is wild to think about. Yeah. School's gonna be crazy. Dude, and they're like close in age. Yeah. You're gonna have to give me all the tips and tricks because you're one of three girls.

Yeah, but I don't know if you want my tips.

I'll give you some warnings. I don't know about tips. Well, when I'm like you like no, I don't have a sister. Oh girl, okay.

I feel like God gave me like I never had like a girl gang, you know, because it was always like my brothers, which I would never like hate on the way I grew up. Like I loved, you know, every aspect of it. You're tough. And you don't know what you don't know. You know, like you I've never had a sister, so I don't know what it's like. I was thank god I was so blessed with amazing sister-in-laws. Like I could not have hand picked two better women. I don't know how my brothers did it. I'm literally like, really? Yeah, but um, no, I'm kidding. But they're they are so great. So, like in that aspect, like I have a relationship, but I didn't like grow up right with it.

So I feel like God's like, here's all the girls now, yeah, you know, so they'll be great, and then your son will be like the big brother, protector, yeah, yeah, it's gonna be another one.

And he's the oldest, so he'll be good, you know. There'll be six and a half years between him and the youngest. Yeah, that's not bad. No, not when there's two in between. No, you know, oh my gosh, that's pretty crazy, actually. It is to have four, six and under.

Girl, gloss up. Like, we're gonna need to get you a sprinter van.

Oh my gosh, stop. Can you imagine? No, trying one. It's only four kids. Like, my atlas can fit all of that. Well, and that was the other thing.

I knew something was up when you're like, oh, and this was like way before, and oh gosh, now all the puzzle pieces are coming together. And you're like, oh, I'm kind of outgrowing the atlas. I'm like, how? You have I was like, what are you talking about? And I'm like, you're fine, stop it. I know it's like I had to talk you off of like wanting to buy a car the cost of a condo. I was like, what are you talking about? Like you're like, you're gonna buy this car. I was like, that's like a lot, yeah. I know. And then I now it all makes sense.

Well, Trevor sent me that car, so I was just like, and I wasn't sure of the buy. Yeah, you know I was like, uh no. Put the cost aside. Like I was like, vibe, yeah, you're like, you know, yeah, true. So yeah, so we're really excited and we're glad to share it here first. Exclusive. We feel like you guys are all friends, so yeah, okay. Well, I think that's what we have for today. Yeah, thanks for listening. Make sure you like, subscribe, follow us on social media.

Yeah, share, download. Yeah, guys, we need a camera.

We're gonna start selling like candy bars too. I'm gonna start selling pictures of my feet.

Oh my could you imagine? Hey, people are making money off that, but on that note. On that note.
